    Experience living history at this dynamic market on Thursday mornings in July & August, where local traditions and folklore come alive. You’d almost expect to see a storybook character springing to life right next to you!

  • Slot Schagen
    Steeped in history and adorned by natural beauty, this castle is a treasure trove of architectural elegance and stories from the past. And the surrounding gardens? Pure enchantment!

  • Museum Vreeburg
    Museum Vreeburg is a 17th-century urban farmhouse annexing a carriage museum in Schagen’s old center that was completely restored in the old style. The farm is a marvelous local museum that paints a picture of life and living around 1900. The carriage museum is situated where authentic carriages from the Westfrisian Folklore Foundation are lined up.
    Open: mid April - October on Wednesday - Saturday 13.30-16.30 uur. In July and August also open on Sunday and the Westfriese Folklore Thursday's between 9.30-16.30 uur.

Embrace the Magic of “Sprookjeswonderland”, a Fairytale Theme Park in Enkhuizen

In English, it’s quite literally “Fairytale Wonderland”. This whimsical park is more than just a treasure trove of storybook come-to-lives. It’s a wondrous realm with beautiful flower gardens, an enticing playground, and a delightful petting zoo. The park, however, is not open all year round. Typically, it operates from March to October and makes a grand festive reopening in mid-December , coated in winter wonder, appropriately known as “Sprookjeswinterland”.
